Nationwide is on your side (did you sing that?). Although we’re in the insurance business, innovation is an essential part of who we are. Everyday our goal is to create a sense of security by focusing on the value we bring to our members. We are proud to be in the Top 100 Best Places to Work (FORTUNE), 50 Best Workplaces for Diversity (FORTUNE), and the Best Place to Work in IT (Computerworld), but we are always striving for what’s next.

We are looking for the best developers, entrepreneurs, and designers to be on our side in creating a safer and more secure world by developing products that help millennials navigate buying their first home, inform small or medium business owners on how to elevate their businesses, and brings Nationwide members together during a catastrophe. How is the Nationwide Hackathon Judged?

Winners of the Nationwide Hackathon will be selected by a panel of judges that includes industry leaders, one representative from each partnering company, as well as an industry blogger to ensure the work done here is disseminated through various media.

What is the Fresh Code Rule?

All code developed as part of the Nationwide Hackathon must be fresh. Before the start of the Nationwide Hackathon, developers can create wireframes, designs and user flows. They can also come with hardware. But to keep things fair, all code must be written onsite at the Nationwide Hackathon. Other than that, almost anything goes and you can use any coding languages or open-source libraries.
